Jules B forced to shut Newcastle store following ‘ram raid’
Independent fashion retailer Jules B has been forced to close its Jesmond boutique on Osborne Road after vandals drove a vehicle into the front of the store in an early-morning ram raid, causing substantial damage.
Northumbria Police were called to the scene at around 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday following reports that a vehicle had smashed into the entrance of the high-end fashion shop. By the time officers arrived, the vehicle had already fled the scene. No injuries have been reported.
In a statement shared on social media, Jules B confirmed that its Osborne Road store will remain closed “until further notice” as repairs are carried out to make the premises safe again. The retailer said it was “deeply saddened” by the incident, describing it as a “severe” blow to a business already navigating difficult times.
The company encouraged customers to continue supporting the brand via its online store while recovery efforts are underway, highlighting ongoing final reductions promotions available at julesb.co.uk.
This latest incident adds to a series of challenges for Jules B, which previously closed two stores in Kendal, Cumbria, citing economic pressures and rising costs. In recent years the business also underwent a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) following disruption from a major cyber attack.
